My painting this summer sucks.  In the spring I started reworking this painting.  I was enjoying it immensely.  I loved it for a long time.  Then I went to Lanai.  When I got back, I decided that I needed to loosen it up.  (I must have had an island hangover and was feeling loosie goosie)  Now, I think this piece is headed south.  It is on it's way to oblivion.

Landscapes are simpler.  There is a  beginning a middle and most important, an end.  These paintings, which I've been calling "collages" for want of a better name, because they are not really "collages," are more experimental.  I have averaged a 75% failure rate, (maybe more) with these "collage" experiments.  So the ones that I finish give me a thrill.
I can't decide which way to hang it either.  I like it both ways, vertical and horizontal.
I don't think it is entirely a goner yet.  (I think there are still a few more days to keep flogging it to death.)  : )
